This dive knife underwent four years of development and extensive testing before being released. The versatile Ultramarine is capable of performing a multitude of tasks. The Ultramarine's slot was developed for use as a “screw-pin shackle” wrench. The Ultramarine knife and sheath come in a hard-shell fitted case. This exceptional knife is much more than a dive knife. It is truly a multipurpose blade. Extrema Ratio lists it as being effective for: 1) Underwater Operations. 2) Field Operations. 3) As an Emergency Tool 4) For Survival. 5) For Self-Defense. An ultimate blade. BLADE INFORMATION: The load index for the blade with the screw-pin shackle wrench slot: the load is positioned in the center. It withstands a load index of 70 kg (154 pounds). The Ultramarine blade was designed specifically to make it a respectable field knife. The mass of the blade allows it to be used for making emergency shelters, stretchers, etc. The blade can be used to cut rope/straps with the serrated section. A hardened steel tang can be used as a hammer or to break glass. Cutting/whittling can be done using the sharp portion of the blade near the handle. The Ultramarine has smaller guards to lessen entanglements and snaring when you are using it underwater. The blade has a matte finish to reduce light reflection. HANDLE INFORMATION: The handle has a pointed tang on the end designed especially for breaking glass. The handle can be disassembled. In low light or no-light situations, you can feel the blade orientation due to the specially designed handle. The large handle is made of a special anti-slip material developed by Extrema Ratio. The handle size and the anti-slip material provide an effective grip when you are wearing neoprene gloves. The Ultramarine has a retention lanyard to allow work without having to sheath the knife. SHEATH INFORMATION: The Ultramarine was developed as a multipurpose amphibian knife plus it is able to transition to a tactical field knife. To accommodate this multi-facet use, the knife comes with two sheaths: one is a dive sheath and the other is a field sheath. The hard inner sheath is made of ABS and the outer sheath is made of Polyamide (Nylon). The weight of the sheath is g 280 (9.88 ounces) The Ultramarine sheath is a specially designed sheath. It is designed to stay close to your body so that it doesn't get entangled. The sheath has a quick release so the knife can be drawn quickly after pulling on the upper portion of the protective flap. Special “anti-wet” snap fasteners are used on the protective sheath flap.
