However, it is constructed from the same excellent steel as the Operativo and has the same distinctive Italian styling. It comes in a hard case especially designed for the Ordinanza COFS. It has the unique COFS motto (ETIAM SI OMNES EGO NON) emblazoned on the blade. According to an Italian friend this motto basically means "Even though all may fall away, I will not." Two sheaths accompany the Ordinanza: the double one (like the Operativo version). This sheath has both a soft outer sheath and a hard inner sheath. The Ordinanza COFS also has a ceremonial one. The ceremonial sheath is carried on your belt at a 45 degree angle as was the original historical style. The 39-09 Ordinanza COFS was sponsored by the Italian C.O.F.S. (Comando Operativo Forze Speciali) and its Commander, Gen. Bertolini. Many international knife collectors also encouraged the 39-09’s development. This knife is a restyling of the famous "Pugnale da paracadutista assaltatore model 1939 – a classic knife that is considered a masterpiece from Italian Military History.
